GLEAM J0917-0012 is a candidate radio galaxy located at ultra high uncertain redshift distances. It could exist somewhere between redshift distances of z=2 to z=8 potentially making it the most distant radio galaxy. The most likely distance seems to be around redshift z=7.{{Cite journal| arxiv=2203.01349 | bibcode=2022PASA...39...16S | title=HST WFC3/Grism observations of the candidate ultra-high-redshift radio galaxy GLEAM J0917-0012 | last1=Seymour | first1=N. | last2=Drouart | first2=G. | last3=Noirot | first3=G. | last4=Broderick | first4=J. Jet
The jet of GLEAM J0917-0012 is only around 50 thousand years old making it one of the youngest jets in the universe's cosmic noon. It is also very powerful being one of the most powerful jets discovered in the cosmic noon. This jet is speculated to be on its way to quenching star formation in the galaxy. The jet is being produced by a large black hole with a mass tentatively placed with a mass of 109 solar masses.{{Cite web |title=INSPIRE |url=https://inspirehep.net/literature/2843314 |access-date=2025-06-11 |website=inspirehep.net}}
