Gail Grandchamp (born March 13, 1955) is a retired American female boxer. On 16 April 1992, after eight years in court litigation in Massachusetts, she gained the right to become a boxer, as a state Superior Court judge deemed it was illegal to deny someone a chance to box based on gender.{{cite web|url=http://www.wnyc.org/story/183864-history-womens-boxing/|title=A History of Women's Boxing|publisher=}} During her efforts to gain the right to box as an amateur, she passed the age of 36, the maximum age for amateur fighters. She instead pursued a career as professional boxer.{{cite web|url=https://www.bitchmedia.org/article/against-the-ropes-women-boxing-feminism|title=Against the Ropes: For women boxers, it's a fight just to get in the ring|publisher=|accessdate=30 November 2017|archive-date=9 December 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201209064220/https://www.bitchmedia.org/article/against-the-ropes-women-boxing-feminism|url-status=dead}}{{cite web|url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03ktrlz|title=Women's Boxing, Sporting Witness - BBC World Service|website=BBC|accessdate=30 November 2017}}{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=_ErHAwAAQBAJ&dq=Gail+Grandchamp&pg=PA198|title=A History of Women's Boxing|first=Malissa|last=Smith|date=5 June 2014|publisher=Rowman & Littlefield|isbn=9781442229952|accessdate=30 November 2017|via=Google Books}}{{cite web|url=https://www.upi.com/Archives/1987/07/18/Gail-Grandchamp-won-a-split-decision-over-Linda-Casey/8072553579200/|title=Gail Grandchamp won a split decision over Linda Casey...|publisher=|accessdate=30 November 2017}}
