The two described species have quite a different body form: G. sacha is elongate and pale, with raptorial front legs, while G. bryicola is compact and brown. An as-yet undescribed species from Venezuela is intermediate in body form and palp. It is named in honor of arachnologist María Elena Galiano.{{Cite journal| last1=Maddison| first1=Wayne P.| year=2006| title=New lapsiine jumping spiders from Ecuador (Araneae: Salticidae)| journal=Zootaxa| volume=1255| pages=17–28| url=http://www.mapress.com/zootaxa/2006/zt01255p028.pdf| accessdate=2017-03-07| mode=cs1}}
