Garnett Sue Stokes (born December 20, 1955) is an American academic administrator serving as the 23rd president of the University of New Mexico. She assumed office on March 1, 2018.
Early life and education
Stokes was born in Washington, D.C. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Carson–Newman University, followed by a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Georgia.[https://president.unm.edu/about/president-stokes-bio.pdf Garnett S. Career
Stokes served as a professor in the psychology department at the University of Georgia from 1985 until 2011, rising from assistant professor to professor. She chaired the Department of Psychology from 1999 to 2004.
