Geersdijk is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 13 km northeast of Middelburg.
The village was first mentioned in 1216 as Gerolsdike, and means "dike of Gerolf (person)".{{cite web|url=https://etymologiebank.nl/trefwoord/geersdijk |title=Geersdijk – (geografische naam) |website=Etymologiebank |access-date=20 April 2022 |language=nl}} The original Geersdijk became an independent parish in 1216.{{cite web|url=https://www.zalig-zeeland.com/provinciedelen/noord-beveland/geersdijk |title=Geersdijk |website=Zalig Zeeland |access-date=20 April 2022 |language=nl}} The medieval village was lost in a flood in 1530 and disappeared completely in 1532. The current Geersdijk developed in 1668 after the Geersdijksepolder was enclosed by a dike.
Geersdijk lost its harbour in 1771 when the Willempolder was diked. In 1808, a new harbour with a canal to the Veerse Gat was constructed.{{cite book|url=https://dbnl.org/tekst/sten009monu09_01/sten009monu09_01_0030.php |title=Geersdijk |author=Piet van Cruyningen & Ronald Stenvert| year=2003 |publisher=Waanders |location=Zwolle |isbn=90 400 8830 6 |access-date=20 April 2022 |language=nl}} Geersdijk was home to 201 people in 1840.{{cite web|url=https://www.plaatsengids.nl/geersdijk |title=Geersdijk |website=Plaatsengids |access-date=20 April 2022 |language=nl}}
Geersdijk was flooded during the North Sea flood of 1953 and many houses were damaged beyond repair. The Drenthehuis was a gift of the province of Drenthe after the floods. It was completed in 1960 and is used a village house.
