The Genesis Prize ({{langx|he|פרס בראשית}}) is a $1 million annual prize awarded to Jewish people who have achieved significant professional success, in recognition of their accomplishments, contributions to humanity, and commitment to Jewish values. Genesis Lifetime Achievement Awards have also been awarded.

According to Haaretz, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was initially the sole 2018 award recipient. But according to a committee source, when the Prime Minister's Office learned that a critic of Trump would be publicly given an award by Netanyahu, it was transferred to Portman. Another committee source denied this was the reason the award was changed.{{Cite news |title=Why Was the 'Jewish Nobel' Snatched From Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Given to Natalie Portman? |language=en |work=Haaretz |url=https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2017-11-17/ty-article/.premium/jewish-nobel-snatched-from-ruth-bader-ginsburg-given-to-natalie-portman/0000017f-e922-da9b-a1ff-ed6f12200000 |access-date=2022-08-16}}
