Genosome
{{Short description|Lipid and DNA complex used to deliver genes}}
A genosome (also known as a lipoplex) is a lipid and DNA complex that is used to deliver genes. It can be a form of non-viral gene therapy as the complex does not require any components of a virus in order to transport genetic material. In presence of CT-DNA, genosomes can form through surface electrostatic interaction.{{cite journal|doi=10.1021/jp7095828 | volume=112 | title=Compaction Process of Calf Thymus DNA by Mixed Cationic−Zwitterionic Liposomes: A Physicochemical Study | year=2008 | journal=The Journal of Physical Chemistry B | pages=2187–2197 | last1 = Rodríguez-Pulido | first1 = Alberto | last2 = Aicart | first2 = Emilio | last3 = Llorca | first3 = Oscar | last4 = Junquera | first4 = Elena| issue=7 | hdl = 10261/9525 | hdl-access = free }}
