Description

The anatomy of Geobenazzia tyrrhenica is very similar to that of Othelosoma species, the main difference being the presence of an adenodactyl, a finger-like glandular projection, in the copulatory apparatus. The male copulatory apparatus has a large seminal vesicle and a penis papilla, while the female organ has a seminal bursa (or bursa copulatrix) connected to the vagina by one duct. There is also a duct connecting the female genital atrium to the intestine.{{cite journal | last1 = Ogren | first1 = Robert E. | last2 = Kawakatsu | first2 = Masaharu | title = Index to the species of the family Rhynchodemidae (Turbellaria, Tricladida, Terricola) Part I: Rhynchodeminae. | journal = The Bulletin of Fuji Women's College |series=Series 2 | volume = 26 | issue = 2 | year = 1988 | pages = 39–91 | url = http://ci.nii.ac.jp/naid/110008426068/en}}{{open access}}
