Geoffrey Samuel Scott (31 October 1956 – 17 October 2018) was an English professional footballer who made 176 appearances in the Football League playing for Stoke City, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough, Northampton Town and Cambridge United.{{cite web |url=http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/player/geoffscott.html |title=Geoff Scott |work=UK A–Z Transfers |publisher=Neil Brown |accessdate=28 March 2009}} He played as a defender.{{cite book|last=Matthews|first=Tony|title=The Encyclopaedia of Stoke City|year=1994|publisher=Lion Press|isbn=0-9524151-0-0}}

Football career

Scott was born in Birmingham, and played began his career with Aston Villa. Scott spent two years at Leicester, and was part of the side that won the Second Division title in the 1979–80 season. He played 39 league games, before signing for Birmingham City. After football

After retiring from the game, Scott took a degree in business studies and worked in the telecommunications industry.
