George Gardner (priest)

Gardner was born on 1 September 1853, educated at Cheltenham College and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge,“Alumni Cantabrigienses” Venn,J/Venn,J.A Cambridge, Cambridge University Press” Vol 2Part 3 pg12 and ordained in 1875. After a curacy at St. Mary's, Nottingham he was the incumbent at All Saints, Cheltenham‘ECCLESIASTICAL INTELLIGENCE’ The Hampshire Advertiser (Southampton, England), Saturday, July 17, 1886; pg. 2; Issue 4183 until 1911.[http://www.allsaintschelt.net/ Parish web-site] From then until 1920 he was Diocesan Chaplain to the Bishop of Birmingham; and Archdeacon of Aston from 1913.
