Personal life

Peasgood suffered a traumatic injury to his left leg when he was two years old, which led to him undergoing several reconstructive surgeries during his childhood. Coming from a family of high-achieving triathletes, his brother Jack Peasgood is not only married to paratriathlete, Alison Peasgood, but has also represented the Great Britain Age Group team in both triathlon and duathlon.{{Cite web|url=https://www.britishtriathlon.org/gb-teams/elite-team/athletes/george-peasgood_69|title=George Peasgood|website=www.britishtriathlon.org|language=en|access-date=2020-03-20}} Additionally, Peasgood's mother has completed ten consecutive London Marathons and his father got into triathlon following a running injury. Both of his parents have completed Ironman triathlons.

Following a cycling accident during training on 1 October 2022, Peasgood suffered a diffuse axonal injury and remained in hospital for several months.{{Cite web |date=2022-10-10 |title=Paralympian Peasgood in hospital after crash |url=https://www.bbc.com/sport/disability-sport/63195640 |access-date=2022-10-10 |website=BBC Sport |language=en-GB}} He was given a 10 per cent change of emerging from his coma, but revived and left hospital in 2023 and returned to the Great Britain paratriathlon squad later in the same year, potentially at a new classification to take account of his injuries{{Cite web |last=Gorman |first=Helen |date=2023-10-02 |title=George Peasgood is busy living, one year on from horror crash as he continues to defy the odds |url=https://www.tri247.com/triathlon-news/elite/george-peasgood-bike-accident-one-year-on-celebrating-life |access-date=2024-07-02 |website=TRI247 |language=en-GB}} although he does not intend to attempt to qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics.
