GigaCrete PlasterMax is a fire-resistance rated interior wall coating for insulating concrete forms (ICF), thereby providing a fire-rated green alternative to gypsum drywall over ICF. When applied over an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam facade of stacked ICF blocks, PlasterMax bonds to the foam and forms a surface that resists abrasion and abuse. PlasterMax can be applied over drywall.{{cite magazine|url= https://www.icfmag.com/articles/features/icf_interior_finishes.html|url-status= dead|title= Interior ICF Finishes|author= |date= |magazine= Insulating Concrete Forms Magazine|publisher= Summit Publishing, LLC.|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20101126072313/http://icfmag.com/articles/features/icf_interior_finishes.html|archive-date= 26 November 2010|access-date= 29 June 2017}}

==Controversy in Rio de Janeiro==
In April 2017, Marcelo Crivella, mayor of Rio de Janeiro, announced a plan to fortify 400 schools with BallistiCrete. The schools are located in areas of the city allegedly dominated by drug traffickers. Critics of Crivella's plan argued that school buildings, made resistant to incoming gunfire by the application of BallistiCrete, could be seized by bandits and used as armored fortresses in wars between gangs or clashes with police.{{cite web |url= https://oglobo.globo.com/rio/especialistas-em-seguranca-professores-criticam-ideia-de-crivella-para-proteger-escolas-21155736|url-status= live|url-access= registration|title= Especialistas em segurança e professores criticam ideia de Crivella para proteger escolas|language= pt|trans-title= Security experts and teachers criticize Crivella's idea to protect schools|last= Werneck|first= Antônio|date= 4 April 2017|website= O Globo|publisher= Infoglobo|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20180520000711/https://oglobo.globo.com/rio/especialistas-em-seguranca-professores-criticam-ideia-de-crivella-para-proteger-escolas-21155736|archive-date= 20 May 2018}}{{cite web |url= https://oglobo.globo.com/rio/vereadora-quer-explicacoes-da-prefeitura-sobre-blindagem-de-escolas-do-rio-21219297|url-status= live|url-access= registration|title= Vereadora quer explicações da prefeitura sobre blindagem de escolas do Rio|language= pt|trans-title= Councilor wants explanations from city hall about shielding of schools in Rio|last= Werneck|first= Antônio|date= 17 April 2017|website= O Globo|publisher= Infoglobo |archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20170418020646/https://oglobo.globo.com/rio/vereadora-quer-explicacoes-da-prefeitura-sobre-blindagem-de-escolas-do-rio-21219297|archive-date= 18 April 2017}}{{cite web |url= https://apnews.com/d5c2540b8c704ccf83f31d10c4dcfb4e|url-status= live|title= Schools caught in crossfire in violent Rio de Janeiro slums|last= Brito|first= Renata|date= 13 April 2017|website= www.apnews.com|publisher= Associated Press|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20171201030919/https://apnews.com/d5c2540b8c704ccf83f31d10c4dcfb4e|archive-date= 1 December 2017}}
