The Global Studies Consortium (GSC) is an international academic association of over 20 institutions of higher learning. It seeks to "promote and facilitate graduate teaching programs in global studies and to foster cooperation among them."[http://globalstudiesconsortium.org/info/by-laws By-Laws, Global Studies Consortium] That cooperation includes exchange of materials and development of methods to survey outcomes,[https://books.google.com/books?id=EOp0BQAAQBAJ&dq=%22Global+Studies+Consortium%22+Tokyo&pg=PA374 Lena Bader, et al. "University of Graz and Other Eighteen Universities' Curricula for Global Studies: Comparisons and Improvements." in Leonid Grinin, et al. Globalistics and Globalization Studies: Theories, Research & Teaching.] p. 374 annual meetings, and a student exchange program. GSC deals only with graduate level programs, and there is no comparable association for undergraduate degree programs in global studies.Mark Juergensmeyer, "Global Studies," [https://books.google.com/books?id=wJB2AwAAQBAJ&dq=%22Global+Studies+Consortium%22&pg=PA734 pp. 727-737] in Helmut K. Anheier and Mark Juergensmeyer, eds. 2012. Encyclopedia of Global Studies. SAGE Publications.

The GSC was founded at a meeting of representatives of university global studies programs held in February 2007 at the Orfalea Center for Global and International Studies of the University of California at Santa Barbara.[http://www.global.ucsb.edu/orfaleacenter/consortium/index.html "Global Studies Consortium: A network of graduate teaching programs on global studies," Orfalea Center website] (accessed 2 February 2016) It has been influential in defining the new field of global studies.

GSC is linked to global-e: A Global Studies Journal.[http://global-ejournal.org/about-2/ "About global-e," global-e website] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160215233817/http://global-ejournal.org/about-2/ |date=2016-02-15 }} (accessed 12 Feb 2016)
