Biography

Adili was born in 1976 in Falls Church, Virginia, but by 1980 at the age four her family moved back to Iran.{{Cite web |title=Golnar Adili |url=https://www.smackmellon.org/artist/golnar-adili/ |access-date=2016-04-07 |website=Smack Mellon}} Her parents were political activists and after their move to Iran, her father was forced to flee back to the United States.{{Cite news|url=https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/20/nyregion/threeiranian-women-use-art-to-pierce-their-homelands-veil.html|title=Three Iranian Women Use Art to Pierce Their Homeland's Veil|last=Hodara|first=Susan|date=2016-03-17|newspaper=The New York Times|issn=0362-4331|access-date=2016-04-07}} She returned to the United States in 1994 to reunite with her father and pursue her college education.
