Goniotrichum is a disputed{{efn|According to World Register of Marine Species, Goniotrichum is currently unaccepted and instead merged into Erythrotrichia, however, Goniotrichales and Goniotrichaceae, its monotypic parent taxa, are accepted.{{cite WoRMS |author=Michael D.
