Lebanon is divided into nine governorates (Arabic: {{lang|ar-Latn|muhafazah}}).
Each governorate is headed by a governor (Arabic: {{lang|ar-Latn|muhafiz}}).

All of the governorates except for Beirut and Akkar are divided into districts, which are further subdivided into municipalities.
