History

Grace Assembly of God had its beginnings in 1950.{{cite web|title= History of Grace Assembly of God|accessdate=21 March 2024|url= https://graceaog.org/grace-history/}} Missionaries Vallance and Lula Baird started a mission at 50 Odin Square, off Alexander Road.

It began with a "Story Hour" in Cantonese, for the children residing in the Alexander housing estate. Months later, church services were conducted in Cantonese. They were attended by the children’s parents and neighbours.

As more adults showed an interest in Christianity, a Bible study and prayer meeting was introduced as a mid-week service. By the end of 1951, the church attendance was about thirty, which included adults, teenagers, and young children.{{cite web|title= History of Grace Assembly of God|accessdate=20 March 2024|url= https://graceaog.org/grace-history/}}

When the Bairds left Singapore for Kuala Lumpur in 1951,{{cite web|title= Early History of the Assemblies of God of Singapore|url=https://www.ag.org.sg/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Early-History-of-the-Assemblies-of-God-of-Singapore.pdf}} Lau To Chan was recommended by the Principal of the Hong Kong Ecclesia Bible Institute to manage the place. In 1954, Rev. Jarmilla (Jean) Wagner, a Czech missionary was sent by the Assemblies of God, USA to run the Alexander (Odin Square) Mission. Shortly after, she rented a place along Prince Philip Avenue as the Alexander work required more space. Thereafter, the church continued to grow.

In 1958, the church secured a 41,000 square feet property at 355 Tanglin Road for a sum of $40,000. Later, the two works in Alexander merged in the Tanglin property and it was named Grace Assembly of God.

In 1961, Rev. Wagner passed away. After her death, Lau To Chan left GAOG to start Kim Tian Christian Church.{{cite web|title= Early History of the Assemblies of God of Singapore|accessdate=20 March 2024|url=https://www.ag.org.sg/early-history-of-the-assemblies-of-god-of-singapore/}} {{Cite web|title = Kim Tian Christian Church|url=https://www.ktcc.org.sg/about-us/|accessdate = 30 March 2025|last = }} Grace Assembly then came under the leadership of Rev. David Nyien (1962-1966), Rev. Oh Beng Khee (1966-1990), Rev. Dr. David Lim (1990-2011) and Pastor Calvin Lee (2011-2019). On 31 December 2019, Rev.
