The Grand Lodge Č.S.P.S. of Baltimore is the Baltimore, Maryland, chapter of the Czech-Slovak Protective Society. The C.S.P.S. is a benevolent society that was founded to help Czech and Slovak immigrants integrate into American society.{{cite web |url=http://www.sokolbaltimore.org/1872/sokoletter_files/SOKOLETTER%202008-03.pdf |title=The Grand Lodge of the Česko Slovanska Podporujici Společnost |publisher=Sokol Baltimore's Sokoletter |accessdate=2011-11-27 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120426002627/http://www.sokolbaltimore.org/1872/sokoletter_files/SOKOLETTER%202008-03.pdf |archive-date=2012-04-26 |url-status=dead }} The chapter was founded in 1880 by Vaclav Joseph Shimek, who was also the publisher of the Telegraf, the owner of Bohemian Hall, and a six-time president of Sokol Baltimore.{{cite web |url=http://www.sokolbaltimore.org/1872/sokoletter_files/SOKOLETTER%202010-05.pdf |title=Sokol Baltimore's Sokoletter - May 2010 |publisher=Sokol Baltimore |accessdate=2011-11-30 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120426002636/http://www.sokolbaltimore.org/1872/sokoletter_files/SOKOLETTER%202010-05.pdf |archivedate=2012-04-26 }}
The Grand Lodge of Baltimore owns and operates the Bohemian National Cemetery in Baltimore.{{cite web|url={{MHT url|id=1588}} |title=MHT page for Bohemian National Cemetery |publisher=Maryland Historical Trust |accessdate=2011-11-27}} Over the course of a decade, the Grand Lodge President C. Jeanne Táborský and her organization have worked to maintain and repair the cemetery grounds and turn a small building at the cemetery into a museum and cultural center. Since the neighborhood of Little Bohemia is long dispersed, the Bohemian National Cemetery is one of the few remnants of the Czech culture remaining in Baltimore, so the Č.S.P.S. has focused much of its energy on preserving the cemetery.{{cite web|url=https://www.citypaper.com/news/mobtownbeat/bcp-102616-mob-czech-fest-20161026-story.html |title=Baltimore's Czech and Slovak Festival is a surprising reflection on heritage |publisher=2019-05-10}}
