Grapplers Quest uses a scoring system similar to that used by the ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship. Unlike the ADCC however, there is a use of advantage points to determine the winner of a match rather than force a judges' decision. Also unlike the ADCC, Grapplers Quest restricts the use of certain leg lock techniques to particular divisions.{{cite web |url=http://www.grapplersquest.com/event-rules |title=OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS |date=September 7, 2010 |work=Grapplers Quest |access-date=July 19, 2011 |archive-date=December 25, 2016 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20161225225448/http://www.grapplersquest.com/event-rules |url-status=dead }}{{cite web |url=http://www.ibjjf.org/rules.htm |title=Rules |work=International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation |access-date=July 19, 2011 |archive-date=July 18, 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110718161929/http://www.ibjjf.org/rules.htm |url-status=dead }}

Grapplers Quest uses a simplified version of the IBJJF scoring system for Brazilian jiu-jitsu matches, though one which still retains the use of subjective advantage points. Similarly to the no-gi divisions, there is a restriction of certain leg lock techniques to differing divisions.{{cite web |url=http://graciemagbarcelona2009.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/the-rules-of-adcc-2009/ |title=The rules of ADCC 2009 |author=Ivan Trindade |date=September 25, 2009 |work=GRACIEMAG |access-date=July 19, 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20111008235447/http://graciemagbarcelona2009.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/the-rules-of-adcc-2009/ |archive-date=October 8, 2011 |url-status=dead }}
