Grecco is a village in the Río Negro Department of Uruguay.

Geography

The village is located {{convert|3|km}} south of Route 20 and about {{convert|13|km}} east of the junction of Route 20 with Route 4.

History

Its status was elevated to "Pueblo" (village) on 17 November 1964 by the Act of Ley Nº 13.299.{{cite web|url=http://www0.parlamento.gub.uy/leyes/AccesoTextoLey.asp?Ley=13299 |title=LEY N° 13.299 |publisher=República Oriental del Uruguay, Poder Legislativo |date=1964 |accessdate=29 June 2011 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141006222850/http://www0.parlamento.gub.uy/leyes/AccesoTextoLey.asp?Ley=13299 |archivedate=6 October 2014 }} Previously, it had been the head of the judicial section "Las Flores".
