The HTC Tattoo (formerly known as the HTC Click) is a phone manufactured by the HTC Corporation for the Android platform.http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-6452_7-10001515-1.html?tag=mncol;txt {{Dead link|date=February 2022}}{{cite web | url = http://news.softpedia.com/news/HTC-Tattoo-Review-121978.shtml | title = HTC Tattoo Review | first = Cosmin | last = Vasile | date = 17 September 2009 | work = Softpedia | access-date = 23 October 2012 | archive-date = 3 November 2012 | archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20121103173935/http://news.softpedia.com/news/HTC-Tattoo-Review-121978.shtml | url-status = live }} It is the second phone to feature the HTC Sense{{cite web |url=http://www.telesutra.com/2009/09/12/new-android-phone-htc-tattoo/ |title=Tele Sutra: Telecom, IT and Digital Media» New Android Phone: HTC Tattoo |access-date=2009-09-14 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090914202446/http://www.telesutra.com/2009/09/12/new-android-phone-htc-tattoo/ |archive-date=2009-09-14 }} interface. The phone was announced on 8 September 2009.
Unlike other Android handsets from HTC, the Tattoo has a resistive touchscreen instead of a capacitive touchscreen. The device's designer explained that it was tested with a capacitive display, but that multi-touch simply wasn't practical on such a small screen,[http://www.mobinaute.com/298048-horace-luke-htc-htc-tattoo-android.html]{{Dead link|date=January 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} "En revanche, contrairement au Hero, le Tattoo utilise un écran résistif non multipoint. Nous avons fait des essais et nous nous sommes rendus compte que cette technologie n'est pas assez pratique à utiliser avec un écran de cette taille."/"However, unlike the Hero, the Tattoo uses a resistive screen, not multi-touch. We did some tests and we realized that this technology is not practical enough to use with a screen this size." while the company's Twitter feed states that a capacitive screen is insufficiently accurate at this size.{{cite tweet|number=3846679772|user=htc|title=So, why resistive you ask? Capacitive screens at small sizes are hard to be accurate with. Resistive ends up registering fewer miss-clicks. |date=8 September 2009}} The resistive screen may also reduce costs. It has been confirmed by HTC that the company’s future Android handsets will use capacitive screens, making the Tattoo the only one to use resistive.
