History

It became the home of 5th/6th Battalion, the Highland Light Infantry, on amalgamation with the 6th (which had been based in the Yorkhill Street drill hall),{{cite web|url=https://canmore.org.uk/site/168009/glasgow-164-172-yorkhill-street-pearson-hall|title=Pearson Hall|publisher=Canmore|accessdate=11 June 2017}} 10th and 11th Battalions of the Highland Light Infantry in 1947.{{cite web|url=http://british-army-units1945on.co.uk/territorial-army-infantry/highland-light-infantry-2.html|title=Highland Light Infantry|publisher=British Army units 1945 on|accessdate=10 June 2017}}
Colours flying, the 5/6th Battalion, the Highland Light Infantry marched from the Hill Street drill hall to amalgamate with the Glasgow Highlanders to form a company of the 52nd Lowland Volunteers at the Hotspur Street drill hall in 1967.
The drill hall was then decommissioned and converted for academic use: it is now known as the Haldane Building, named after the Glasgow engraver James Haldane, and is part of the Glasgow School of Art.{{cite web|url=http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/168523/details/glasgow+24+hill+street/|title=Site Record: Glasgow - 24 Hill Street|accessdate=31 March 2014}}
