A Haliya ({{langx|ne|हलिया}}) is an agricultural bonded labourer who works on another person's land. The literal meaning of Haliya is "one who ploughs". Haliyas can be found throughout Nepal. But the Haliya system in the far western hilly part of Nepal is considered a bonded labour system.{{cite web|url=http://www.antislavery.org/archive/submission/submission1999-09NepalAgri.htm|publisher=Deepak Deo Bhatt|title=Agricultural bonded labour in Baitadi District Far Western Region, Nepal|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20071008053424/http://www.antislavery.org/archive/submission/submission1999-09NepalAgri.htm|archive-date=2007-10-08|df=}}
