History

The school was founded in 1937, originary to be named 'Butlocks Heath Senior School'. However, before opening the name was changed to 'Hamble Senior School'. The school was opened to increase school places in the area, which was needed due to the significant growth in the local aviation industry. The school continued to grow with the local area.

In 2002, the Hamble Community Sports Complex opened, allowing the school to gain its Sports College status. To reflect this, the name was changed to 'Hamble Community Sports College'. This status was lost in 2011, with the ending of the government programme.{{Cite web|title=Specialist Schools|url=https://www.politics.co.uk/reference/specialist-schools/|access-date=2021-12-24|website=Politics.co.uk|language=en-US}}{{Cite web|title=Specialist schools programme: Michael Gove announces changes|url=https://www.gov.uk/government/news/specialist-schools-programme-michael-gove-announces-changes|access-date=2021-12-25|website=GOV.UK|language=en}}

In 2016, the school changed its name to 'The Hamble School'. {{cite web |url=http://www.hamblehistory.org.uk/shared/attachments.asp?f=6ef81d98%2Dd6f1%2D44c1%2D8754%2D76f63472006f%2Epdf&o=17%2D%2D%2DSchools%2Epdf#:~:text=Hamble's%20first%20school%20for%20all,the%20Vicar%20was%20its%20manager. |title=Hamble Schools |date=9 November 2017 |website=Hamblehistory.org.uk |publisher=Hamble History |access-date=9 June 2024 }}
