History
Hans L'Orange Field began as a recreation area for Oahu Sugar Co. workers. Originally known as Oahu Sugar Co. Field, it was later named after the manager who, in 1924, convinced the company to give up several acres of cane field, to create the recreation area.{{cite news |work=Honolulu Star-Bulletin |date=June 12, 1997 |url=http://archives.starbulletin.com/97/06/12/news/story2.html |last1=Ohira |first1=Rod |title=Waipahu Turns 100 |access-date=October 22, 2006 |archive-date=June 13, 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110613093237/http://archives.starbulletin.com/97/06/12/news/story2.html |url-status=live}}{{cite news |work=Honolulu Star-Bulletin |date=October 11, 1999 |url=http://archives.starbulletin.com/1999/10/11/news/story5.html |last1=Ohira |first1=Rod |title=Waipahu's field of dreams marks 75 years |access-date=October 22, 2006 |archive-date=August 10, 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110810202439/http://archives.starbulletin.com/1999/10/11/news/story5.html |url-status=live}}
