Life and career
He was born in 1932 in Guiping, Guangxi, Republic of China. He had four brothers.{{cite news|url=http://culture.caixin.com/2019-02-13/101379058.html |script-title=zh:那个最纯粹的学者走了——缅怀恩师何秉松教授 |work=caixin.com |date=2019-02-13 |language=zh}} After graduating from Peking University in 1952, he taught at the China University of Political Science and Law. After the Cultural Revolution, he served as a lawyer in the trial of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four counter-revolutionary groups.
