Hemicloea is a genus of South Pacific flat spiders that was first described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1870.{{cite journal|last=Thorell|first=T.|year=1870|title=Araneae nonnullae Novae Hollandie, descriptae.|journal=Öfversigt af Kongliga Vetenskaps-Akademiens Förhandlingar|pages=367–389|volume=27}} Originally placed with the ground spiders, it was moved to the Trochanteriidae in 2018.{{cite journal|last1=Azevedo|first1=G.
