Henry Mitchell (c. 1837–1913) was the founder of Mitchell's Brewery which evolved to become Mitchells & Butlers.

Career

Mitchell took over the running of the Crown Inn in Smethwick from his father in 1861.{{cite web|url=https://www.blackcountryhistory.org/collections/getrecord/GB146_BS-MB/|title=Mitchells & Butlers Brewery, Cape Hill, Smethwick|access-date=22 April 2017}} Using the profits from the Inn, he built the Crown Brewery in 1866.{{cite web|url=http://www.blackcountrybugle.co.uk/photographs-old-old/story-20122626-detail/story.html|title=Photographs old and not so old|accessdate=22 April 2017}} Following the success of the Crown Brewery, he built the Cape Hill Brewery in 1872.
