His research interests encompass quantum and physical chemistry, applied linear algebra, as well as perturbation theory.

Achievements

Using computational methods, he carried out simulations of infrared spectra of Criegee intermediates (CH2OO).{{cite journal|title=Infrared Absorption Spectrum of the Simplest Criegee Intermediate CH2OO|volume=340|issue=6129|pages=174–176|url=https://www.science.org/doi/full/10.1126/science.1234369|journal=Science|access-date=2013-11-28|doi=10.1126/science.1234369|pmid=23580523|year=2013|last1=Su|first1=Y.-T.|last2=Huang|first2=Y.-H.|last3=Witek|first3=H. Teaching

As an academic teacher, he offers semestral courses in general and quantum chemistry. Some of them are available online via the OpenCourseWare platform.{{cite web|title=Online courses via OpenCourseWare |url=http://140.113.86.231/site/channels/55?locale=zh_tw |access-date=2013-11-28 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20131203015711/http://140.113.86.231/site/channels/55?locale=zh_tw |archive-date=2013-12-03 }}

In fall 2017, he taught "Perturbation theory for linear operator", using the book titled the same as the course by mathematician Tosio Kato.
