Hindustan is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Monroe County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.

Hindustan was platted on August 18, 1853, by Charles G. Documents dating from the 1870s spell the town's name as 'Hindostan'.

Geography

Hindustan is located at an altitude of 271 metres (892 feet)[http://www.fallingrain.com/world/US/18/Hindustan.html Location of Hindustan - Falling Rain Genomics] along Old State Road 37 between Chambers Pike and Farr Road. It is within the Morgan Monroe State Forest.
