Design and development
The Hirth F-40 is a four-cylinder, two-stroke, {{convert|1300|cc|cuin|1|abbr=on}} displacement, liquid-cooled, petrol engine design, with a helical gear mechanical gearbox reduction drive. It produces {{convert|120|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} at 4800 rpm.
