Histon Road is an arterial road linking central Cambridge, England with the A14 road north of the city.[http://www.cambridgeonline.co.uk/streets/Histon_Road/ Histon Road, Cambridge]. The road is designated the B1049. At the southern end, the road links with Huntingdon Road (A1307), Victoria Road (A1134), Mount Pleasant, and Castle Street.[http://www.cambridge2000.com/cambridge1950/html/histon.html Cambridge 1950: Histon Road — Huntingdon Road — Victoria Road junction], [http://www.cambridge2000.com/cambridge1950/ Cambridge 1950]. At the northern end of the road it continues just south of the A14 as Cambridge road into the village of Impington.
Much of the housing on the road dates from the 1930s. For example, Langham House, a block of flats, is typical of the era.[http://www.cambridge2000.com/cambridge2000/html/0012/PC283030.html Histon Road: Langham House], [http://www.cambridge2000.com/ Cambridge 2000].

On the opposite side of the road to the East was Simons House, a retirement home. It was built in 1977 to a design by the architects Darbourne & Darke, and demolished in 2009 to make way for senior citizens' flats.[http://www.cambridge2000.com/cambridge2000/html/0004/P4060539.html Histon Road: Simons House, 132–160], [http://www.cambridge2000.com/ Cambridge 2000].

On the west side of the road is Impington Farm.
