History
The station was opened to traffic on 24 August 1992. It is located just to the south of the junction where the original line left to go to the terminus station at Harrogate Brunswick.{{cite book |last1=Bairstow |first1=Martin |title=Railways through Harrogate |date=2022 |publisher=Bairstow |location=Farsley |isbn=978-1-871944-49-5 |page=128}}
Access to both platforms is step-free, and although the station is unstaffed (so ticket must be purchased on the train), ramps are available for access to the trains from the platforms. The station has basic shelters on each platform (which are offset from each other) and train running details are provided via automatic announcements, timetable posters and CIS displays.{{cite web|title=Station facilities for Hornbeam Park|url=http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/HBP/details.html|access-date=23 May 2014|work=National Rail Enquiries}}
