Huang Yikai

Huang Yikai ({{zh|t=黃一楷|p=Huáng Yīkǎi}}; 1580{{ndash}}1622) was a Chinese woodcutter active during the late Ming dynasty.
Early life
Career
Huang did woodcut illustrations for numerous novels, including Romance of the West Chamber{{Sfn|Zhou|1995|p=4}} The Lyrics in the Whorehouse, Picture of the Boudoir, Su'e pian,{{Sfn|Zhou|1995|p=5}} and The Peony Pavilion.{{cite web|accessdate=14 June 2021|url=https://www.huntington.org/chinese-woodblock-prints|title=Chinese Woodblock Prints: Gardens, Art, and Commerce in Chinese Woodblock Prints|publisher=Huntington Library}} Lianhong Zhou of the Kinsey Institute in Bloomington, Indiana, describes Huang's artistic style as "minute and exquisite".{{Sfn|Zhou|1995|p=5}}
