Hugh Allan (born Allan Hughes; November 5, 1903{{snd}}February 12, 1997){{Citation needed |date=September 2021}} was an American actor. He had several lead roles. After graduating from Freemont High School in Oakland in 1923, Allan worked in San Francisco for the Cunard Line. After that job, he had his first employment with the film industry, working as secretary to the producer of Hollywood Photoplay Productions. He also was a film cutter and an assistant cameraman before he appeared on camera, in a bit part in a Richard Talmadge film. Allan married Lou Williamson. He died in Memphis in 1997. He is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.{{Citation needed |date=September 2021}}

Critical response
