Hugh Thomson {{post-nominals|country=GBR|FRGS}} (born 1960) is a British travel writer, film maker and explorer. He has led research expeditions in Peru exploring Inca settlements, including the discovery of Cota Coca in 2002{{cite web|title=Major New Inca Site Discovered (RGS Press release)|url=http://www.thomson.clara.net/cotaprss.html|accessdate=18 July 2016|date=6 June 2002}} and a 2003 study of Llaqtapata.{{cite journal |last1=Malville |first1=J. He has an MA from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. His grandfathers were G. P. Thomson and W. L. Bragg, both of whom, and both their fathers J. J. Thomson and W. H.
