The Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station ({{zh|惠州抽水蓄能电站}}) is a pumped storage hydroelectric power station near Huizhou in Guangdong province, China. It contains 8 pump-generators that total a {{convert|2448|MW}} installed capacity. Initial units went online between 2007 and 2008,{{Cite web|title=Huizhou Pumped-storage Power Station|url=http://www.psiquartz.com/en/productss.asp?id=490&dname=|publisher=PSIQuartz|accessdate=31 August 2010|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110715130944/http://www.psiquartz.com/en/productss.asp?id=490&dname=|archivedate=15 July 2011}}{{Cite web|title=Pumped-Storage Power Plants|url=http://www.power.alstom.com/home/new_plants/hydro/turnkey_plants/pumped_storage_plants/41326.EN.php?languageId=EN&dir=/home/new_plants/hydro/turnkey_plants/pumped_storage_plants/|publisher=ALSTOM Power|accessdate=31 August 2010}} and the power station was complete on June 15, 2011.{{cite web|title=Construction of Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station finished in Guangdong|url=http://www.whatsonshenzhen.com/news-391-construction-of-huizhou-pumped-storage-power-station-finished-in-guangdong.html|publisher=Shenzhen|accessdate=6 August 2011|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110704044556/http://www.whatsonshenzhen.com/news-391-construction-of-huizhou-pumped-storage-power-station-finished-in-guangdong.html|archive-date=4 July 2011|url-status=dead}}
The power station is supplied with water by an upper reservoir which is created by two dams. The main dam is a {{Convert|56|m}} tall and {{Convert|156|m}} long roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dam. The second, auxiliary, dam is {{Convert|14|m}} high and {{Convert|133|m}} long. Once water from the upper reservoir is transferred through the power station, which is located {{Convert|420|m}} underground, and electricity produced, it discharges to a lower reservoir.{{Cite web|title=Ground-stress Testing Result Application of Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station|url=http://en.cnki.com.cn/Article_en/CJFDTOTAL-HBDK200905044.htm|publisher=CNKI|accessdate=31 August 2010|year=2009|archive-date=3 March 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160303181410/http://en.cnki.com.cn/Article_en/CJFDTOTAL-HBDK200905044.htm|url-status=dead}} This lower reservoir is created by a single {{Convert|61|m|ft|abbr=on}} tall {{Convert|420|m|ft|abbr=on}} tall RCC dam. The water can then be pumped by the generators back into the upper reservoir for reuse.
