History

Humming Airways was created by a young entrepreneur named Francisco Errecart, 20 years old, with the purpose of creating a medium-sized airline that connects mainly industrially strong cities with the Jorge Newbery Airport, in Buenos Aires. He determined which cities should initially be flown to: Venado Tuerto, Junín, Olavarría, and Tandil, which are four very thriving cities. Junín, due to runway conditions, had to be changed to Villa María.{{Cite web |last=AviacionNews |date=2025-01-29 |title=Conociendo el proyecto de Humming Airways en primera persona. Humming Airways’ inaugural flight took place on December 27, 2024, connecting Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires with the cities of Venado Tuerto and Villa María. The event was attended by government officials including Federico Sturzenegger, Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, and Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports.{{Cite web |last=Aviacionline |title=Humming Airways plans to launch flights to Venado Tuerto and Villa María in February |url=https://www.aviacionline.com/humming-airways-iniciara-sus-vuelos-en-febrero-hacia-venado-tuerto-y-villa-maria |access-date=4 April 2025 |website=Aviacionline |language=es}}

Regular operations began in February 2025, offering flights connecting Buenos Aires with Venado Tuerto, Villa María, Olavarría and Tandil. These routes are primarily designed to serve corporate passengers and foster regional development.{{Cite web |last=Redacción |date=26 December 2024 |title=Humming Airways launches operations with inaugural flight from Aeroparque to Villa María |url=https://villamariavivo.com/humming-airways-lanza-sus-operaciones-con-vuelo-inaugural-desde-aeroparque-a-villa-maria/ |access-date=4 April 2025 |website=Villa María VIVO |language=es-AR}}

The first scheduled commercial flight of the airline began on 17 April 2025, with a route between Jorge Newbery Airport and Olavarría, but the flight was unable to complete its route due to adverse weather conditions. The dense fog that covered the city around prevented landing. The plane headed to the airport in Tandil, where it was able to land without incident. However, the schedule includes a second opportunity to complete the flight, as it is scheduled to take off from Buenos Aires, arrive in Olavarría, continue to Tandil, and finally return to Jorge Newbery Airport.{{Cite web |title=Vuelo inaugural entre Buenos Aires y Olavarría no logró aterrizar por la niebla |url=https://infogei.com/nota/48520/vuelo-inaugural-entre-buenos-aires-y-olavarria-no-logro-aterrizar-por-la-niebla/ |access-date=2025-04-20 |website=Infogei |language=es-ES}}

In addition, the airline has implemented sustainable practices, such as planting one tree for every flight operated, with the goal of reducing its environmental impact.

Fleet

Humming Airways initially operates a Fairchild Swearingen Metro 23, registered as LV-ZXA, with a capacity for 19 passengers. The aircraft is leased from Royal Class and is suitable for operations at airports with limited infrastructure, in line with the airline's strategy of connecting cities underserved by traditional carriers.
