The Hunter 31-2 is an American sailboat that was designed by the Hunter Design Team and first built in 2006.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-31-2|title = Hunter 31-2 sailboat specifications and details|access-date = 18 October 2018|last= Browning| first = Randy |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2018|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20181225044527/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-31-2|archive-date= 25 December 2018|url-status= dead}}

The design was originally marketed by the manufacturer as the Hunter 30 and later as the Hunter 31, but is now usually referred to as the 31-2 or the 30/31 (2005), to differentiate it from the unrelated 1983 Hunter 31 design. It is also sometimes confused with the 2015 Marlow-Hunter 31. The Hunter 31-2 was also sold as the Hunter 30, causing confusion with the 1973 designed Hunter 30. It is sometimes called the Hunter 30-3.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-30-3|title = Hunter 30-3 sailboat|access-date = 6 July 2020|last = McArthur|first = Bruce|work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url = https://archive.today/20200730190501/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-30-3|archive-date = 30 July 2020|url-status = live}}{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-3031-2005|title = Hunter 30/31 (2005) sailboat|access-date = 17 May 2021|last = McArthur|first = Bruce|work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2021|archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20210518123257/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/hunter-3031-2005|archive-date = 18 May 2021|url-status = live}}

Production

The design was built by Hunter Marine in the United States between 2006 and 2009, but it is now out of production.{{cite web|url= https://sailboatdata.com/builder/hunter-marine-usa?paginate=25&page=2|title= Hunter Marine|access-date= 18 October 2018|last= Browning|first= Randy|work= sailboatdata.com|year= 2018|archive-url= https://archive.today/20210518122608/https://sailboatdata.com/builder/hunter-marine-usa?paginate=25&page=2|archive-date= 18 May 2021|url-status= live}}

The Hunter 31-2 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a fractional sloop B&R rig, a plumb stem, a walk-through reverse transom wit a swimming platform, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel with a weighed bulb. It displaces {{convert|8505|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|2571|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.

The boat has a draft of {{convert|3.92|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel installed and is fitted with an inboard engine.

Standard equipment supplied included a 110% furling genoa, a chart table, window curtains, a laminate cabin sole, private forward and aft cabins, a two-burner stove, icebox, plates, bowls and mugs, an air horn, anchor and four life jackets. Factory available options included an autopilot, bimini top, air conditioning, spinnaker, microwave oven, {{convert|13|in|cm|0|abbr=on}} flat panel TV and DVD player, a stereo with CD player and a Marine VHF radio.{{cite web|url =https://www.marlow-hunter.com/wp-content/uploads/30_2005.pdf |title = Hunter 30|access-date = 18 October 2018|author=Hunter Marine|work = www.marlow-hunter.com|year=2005|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20181019041103/https://www.marlow-hunter.com/wp-content/uploads/30_2005.pdf|archive-date= 19 October 2018|url-status= live}}
