Hydrangea scandens is a species of shrub in the flowering plant family Hydrangeaceae. It is native to Japan, where it is found from the Kantō region southward.{{cite book |last=Ohwi |first=Jisaburo |date=1965 |title=Flora of Japan |publisher=Smithsonian Institution |page=512}}
Its leaves are 4-7 cm long, toothed, and have acuminate tips.[http://mikawanoyasou.org/data/gakuutugi.htm Hydrangea scandens] (in Japanese), Flora of Mikawa Flowers are produced in May through June.
