Interface and operation
As is common with authoring systems, the users are usually not software experts.{{cite web |title=Was denkbar ist, ist auch machbar!|url=http://www.checkpoint-elearning.de/article/9051.html |work=Checkpoint E-Learning |author=Birgin, Doris |date=February 11, 2011 |access-date=2014-12-12}} Therefore, authoring software programs are designed to be intuitive and easily understood. The interface of IMC Content Studio resembles the design of Microsoft products.{{cite web |title=Corporate Learning News|url=http://www.checkpoint-elearning.com/article/13393.html |author=Author unknown |work=Checkpoint E-Learning |language=English|date=April 2014 |access-date=December 12, 2014}} One example is the ribbon, used in Microsoft Office since 2007 and Windows 8. The program allows the import of Microsoft PowerPoint templates and slides.
Beside producing content for e-learning, the software can be used to design graphic novels, interactive books and presentations. In addition to visual content, the program offers the option of producing audio-content via speech synthesis.{{cite web |title=Von Alpla bis Zeiss |url=http://www.checkpoint-elearning.de/article/13301.html |author=Author unknown |work=Checkpoint E-Learning |date=April 2014 |access-date=14 December 2014}}
