History
INAS 311 was commissioned on 24 March 2009 by the, then, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Nirmal Verma, ADC. Cdr Sanjay Nandal was the commissioning commanding officer of the squadron.
