Ifo Business Climate Index

Ifo's Business Climate Index is an early indicator of economic activity released monthly since 1972. The database underlying the index is a monthly survey of 7000 in the construction, manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries. The index is closely followed by investors, commentators and politics.{{cite news |last1=Megaw |first1=Nicholas |title=‘Euphoric’: German business confidence at highest level on record – Ifo |url=https://www.ft.com/content/9bd3b76e-8079-35da-bcd2-bbc0964b9c60 |access-date=16 April 2020 |publisher=Financial Times}}{{cite web |last1=Niehaber |first1=Michael |title=Surprise rise in German business morale dispels recession fears |url=https://www.reuters.com/article/us-germany-economy-ifo/surprise-rise-in-german-business-morale-dispels-recession-fears-idUSKCN1R60WA |website=Reuters |access-date=16 April 2020}}
