Im Ha-ryong (born Im Han-yong on October 31, 1952) is a South Korean actor and comedian. During the 1980s and 1990s, Im was one of Korea's foremost comedians (called "gag men") alongside Shim Hyung-rae and Kim Hyung-gon.{{cite web|last=Lee|first=Eun-joo|title=[TALK OF THE TOWN]Top TV comic takes final bow|url=https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/Article.aspx?aid=2882686|website=Korea JoongAng Daily|access-date=14 February 2015|date=14 November 2007|archive-date=11 March 2022|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220311042516/https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/Article.aspx?aid=2882686|url-status=live}} As his brand of comedy became less popular among younger viewers, Im started appearing in small supporting roles in films and television series, particularly those directed by Jang Jin. In 2005, he won Best Supporting Actor at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for his first major film role as a veteran soldier in the hit Korean War dramedy Welcome to Dongmakgol.{{cite web|title=Welcome to Dongmakgol Draws 5 Million Viewers|url=http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2005/08/26/2005082661037.html|website=The Chosun Ilbo|access-date=14 February 2015|date=26 August 2005|archive-date=8 March 2022|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220308231843/http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2005/08/26/2005082661037.html|url-status=live}}{{cite web|title=Lady Vengeance Bags Korea's Top Movie Honors|url=http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2005/11/30/2005113061006.html|website=The Chosun Ilbo|access-date=14 February 2015|date=30 November 2005|archive-date=5 March 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150305005432/http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2005/11/30/2005113061006.html|url-status=live}}{{cite web|title=Sympathy for Lady Vengeance triumphs at Blue Dragon Awards|url=http://www.koreanfilm.or.kr/jsp/news/news.jsp?mode=VIEW&seq=328|website=Korean Film Biz Zone|access-date=14 February 2015|date=14 December 2005|archive-date=27 August 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200827094441/http://www.koreanfilm.or.kr/jsp/news/news.jsp?mode=VIEW&seq=328|url-status=live}}{{cite web|title=K-Film Reviews: 웰컴 투 동막골 (Welcome To Dongmakgol)|url=http://twitchfilm.com/2006/01/korean-dvd-reviews-welcome-to-dongmakgol.html|website=Twitch Film|access-date=14 February 2015|date=16 January 2006|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20131207213653/http://twitchfilm.com/2006/01/korean-dvd-reviews-welcome-to-dongmakgol.html|archive-date=7 December 2013|url-status=dead}} Other notable films include workplace/musical drama Bravo My Life (2007) and political satire Good Morning President (2009).{{cite web|last=Lee|first=Hyo-won|title=Actor Jang Dong-kun Returns as President|url=https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/entertainment/films/20090922/actor-jang-dong-kun-returns-as-president|website=The Korea Times|access-date=14 February 2015|date=22 September 2009|archive-date=14 February 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150214222312/http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/art/2009/09/141_52271.html|url-status=live}}{{cite web|title=President bids greetings to movie-goers|url=http://www.asiae.co.kr/news/view.htm?idxno=2009092311283325125|website=10Asia|access-date=14 February 2015|date=23 September 2009|archive-date=17 March 2022|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220317161226/http://www.asiae.co.kr/news/view.htm?idxno=2009092311283325125|url-status=live}}
