In This Room is the third studio album by the band The 3rd and the Mortal.

This was the band's second and also last album with Ann-Mari Edvardsen on vocal duty. The band had also left the doom metal sound for a more "atmospheric" sound. The album was given positive reviews by newspapers such as Tidens Krav ("die throw" 5),{{cite news|title=Uventet av 3rd and The Mortal|work=Tidens Krav|date=22 February 1997|page=35|language=no}} Aftenposten,{{cite news|title=Sukkerspinn og maskinolje|work=Aftenposten|date=24 February 1997|author=Thon, Kjell Henning|page=22|language=no}} Jærbladet,{{cite news|title=Musikk|work=Jærbladet|date=12 March 1997|author=Barane, Helge|language=nn}} Driva ("die throw" 5){{cite news|title=Compact driva|work=Driva|date=21 March 1997|author=H., Håvard|page=12|language=nn}} and Hamar Arbeiderblad ("die throw" 5).{{cite news|title=Fri og fengslende|work=Hamar Arbeiderblad|date=12 March 1997|author=Vestad, Geir|page=58|language=no}} More mediocre reviews were issued by Rogalands Avis,{{cite news|title=Atomsfærisk uro|work=Rogalands Avis|date=22 February 1997|author=Gregersen, Ann-Mari|page=12|language=no}} Adresseavisen,{{cite news|title=Prentiøs gjeng på opptur|work=Adresseavisen|date=26 February 1997|author=Hoel, Ole Jacob|page=36|language=no}} Nordlands Framtid ("die throw" 4){{cite news|title=Mørkt lydbilde|work=Nordlands Framtid|date=25 February 1997|page=47|language=no}} and VG ("die throw" 4).{{cite news|title=Utfordring|work=VG|date=26 February 1997|author=Hansen, Espen A.|page=48|language=no}}
