Independiente is a British independent record label formed in 1997 after Andy Macdonald sold his first label Go! Discs to PolyGram in 1996 for a reported £30 million. The label, which is currently dormant, is a division of Concord Music.{{Cite magazine|url=https://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/record-labels/8468719/concord-music-acquires-uk-indie-label-independiente-records|title=Concord Music Acquires U.K. Indie Label Independiente Records | Billboard|magazine=Billboard |date=6 August 2018|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180806212548/https://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/record-labels/8468719/concord-music-acquires-uk-indie-label-independiente-records|access-date=1 September 2020|archive-date=6 August 2018}}

The label's catalogue included albums by Travis, John Martyn, Nile, Gomez, Embrace, Paul Weller and Martina Topley-Bird. In December 2013, it was confirmed that Embrace had signed to Cooking Vinyl, leaving Independiente with no current artists on its roster.{{cite web|url=http://www.recordoftheday.com/news-and-press/cooking-vinyl-signs-embrace |title=Cooking Vinyl signs Embrace |publisher=Recordoftheday.com |date=2013-12-13 |access-date=2014-08-01}} The label ceased releasing music by new artists in 2009 and has subsequently transformed itself into a profitable synchronisation business, sourcing opportunities in film and advertising for its catalogue.

Label success
