Function

As a commercial web SCADA system, it is used by engineers as a tool to develop and customize web-based SCADA applications.{{cite journal |last1=Soetedjo |first1=A. |last2=Nakhoda |first2=Y.I. |last3=Lomi |first3=A. |title=Web-SCADA for Monitoring and Controlling Hybrid Wind-PV Power System |journal=Telkomnika |date=June 2014 |volume=12 |issue=2 |pages=305–314|doi=10.12928/telkomnika.v12i2.53 |url=http://journal.uad.ac.id/index.php/TELKOMNIKA/article/view/53 |doi-access=free }}{{cite journal |last1=Tyutyundzhiev |first1=N. |last2=Petrov |first2=N. |last3=Martínez-Moreno |first3=F. |last4=Leloux |first4=J. |last5=Narvarte |first5=L. |title=Advanced testing of PV plants using portable SCADA tool |journal=31st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition |date=September 2015 |pages=2074–2077 |url=http://oa.upm.es/42009/1/INVE_MEM_2015_224829.pdf}}{{cite journal |last1=Hamed |first1=B. |last2=Shamla |first2=A.A. |title=Gaza's Water Wells System Based on SCADA |journal=5th International Conference for Engineering and Sustainability (ICESS) |date=4 November 2014 |url=https://iugspace.iugaza.edu.ps/bitstream/handle/20.500.12358/24566/7.3.pdf?sequence=1}}{{cite book |last1=Naidoo |first1=N. |last2=Bright |first2=G. |last3=Stopforth |first3=R. |title=2019 Southern African Universities Power Engineering Conference/Robotics and Mechatronics/Pattern Recognition Association of South Africa (SAUPEC/RobMech/PRASA) |chapter=A Distributed Framework for Programming the Artificial Intelligence of Mobile Robots in Smart Manufacturing Systems |date=28–30 January 2019 |pages=34–41 |doi=10.1109/RoboMech.2019.8704788|isbn=978-1-7281-0369-3 |s2cid=145049174 }}

Security

Security researchers have found numerous vulnerabilitiesAppSecEU2011, O. W. A. S. P. (2011). Utilities still under threat. In 2013, Ecava released the first known bug bounty program for ICS.{{cite web |last1=Toecker |first1=Michael |title=More on IntegraXor's Bug Bounty Program |url=http://www.digitalbond.com/blog/2013/07/23/more-on-integraxors-bug-bounty-program/ |publisher=Digital Bond |accessdate=21 May 2019 |date=23 July 2013}}{{cite web |last1=Ragan |first1=Steve |title=SCADA vendor faces public backlash over bug bounty program |url=https://www.csoonline.com/article/2133737/scada-vendor-faces-public-backlash-over-bug-bounty-program.html |publisher=CSO |accessdate=21 May 2019 |date=18 July 2013}} However, they received a backlash for offering store credits instead of cash which does not incentivize security researchers.{{cite web |last1=Rashi |first1=Fahmida Y. |title=SCADA Vendor Bashed Over "Pathetic" Bug Bounty Program |url=https://www.securityweek.com/scada-vendor-bashed-over-pathetic-bug-bounty-program |publisher=Security Week |accessdate=21 May 2019 |date=16 July 2013}}
