{{Starbox end}}

Iota Leonis, Latinized from ι Leonis, is a binary (or possibly triple) star system in the constellation Leo. The system is fairly close to the Sun, at only 79 light-years (24.2 parsecs) away, based on its parallax. The system has a combined apparent magnitude of 4.00 making it faintly visible to the naked eye. It is moving closer to the Sun with a radial velocity of −10 km/s.

The primary star, Iota Leonis A, has a spectral type of F3 IV, matching that of an F-type subgiant star. The second component in the star system is designated Iota Leonis B. It orbits the primary almost every 200 years, and with its perihelion passage in 1948, the separation between the two is steadily growing. The pair is also listed as a single-lined spectroscopic binary. Iota Leonis B has a mass approximately 8% greater than that of the Sun.{{cite journal|title=Nearby stars of the Galactic disc and halo - IV|author=Fuhrmann, Klaus|journal=Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society|volume=384|issue=1|pages=173–224|date=2008|bibcode=2008MNRAS.384..173F|doi=10.1111/j.1365-2966.2007.12671.x|doi-access=free}} It is a G-type main-sequence star, like the Sun.{{cite simbad|title=BD+11 2348B|access-date=9 May 2017}}

There is a K-type main-sequence star, designated StKM 2-732, with a similar parallax and proper motion to Iota Leonis.{{cite simbad |title=StKM 2-732}} The Fifth Catalogue of Nearby Stars (CNS5) lists this star as a member of the system, component C.
