Iris nigricans is a flowering plant in the family Iridaceae. It is the national flower of Jordan.{{cite web

|accessdate=2015-05-10}} The flowers are blackish-purple and {{convert|12|-|15|cm}} in diameter, and the plants are {{convert|35|cm|abbr=on}} tall with recurved leaves.
