Isatay Taymanuly
Isatay Taymanuly ({{langx|kk|Исатай Тайманұлы}}, Isatai Taimanūly; {{langx|ru|Исатай Тайманов|translit=Isatay Taymanov}}; 1791 – July 12, 1838) was a Kazakh hero (батыр "batır"{{clarify|what language is this and why is there an I without a dot?|date=March 2024}}) and leader (with his friend Makhambet Utemisuly) of a rebellion against Zhangir-Kerey Khan of Bukey Horde and the Russian rulers of Kazakhstan in the 19th century.
The rebellion began in late 1836 and the beginning of 1837.{{clarify|"or" instead of "and"? Or skip 1837 reference altogether! It began when it began (a point in time). So if something was going on during late 1836 then the reference to 1837 should be omitted altogether. It couldn't have begun during a time interval, unless there is an uncertainty as to when was the start - in which case "or" should be used.|date=March 2024}}
Isatay was killed in fighting near the Aqbulaq River on July 12, 1838. According to Baymirza Hayit's book "Turkistan: Between Russia and China" after his army was defeated, Isatay Batir got into a sword fight against seven Russian Cossack soldiers; eventually he got overwhelmed and was killed by decapitation.
